Mulino third grade bullrider to compete in IMBA World Finals
Elsie Anca has earned the chance to compete in the International Miniature Bullrider's Association World Finals this week after qualifying in the miniature division of the Coastal Farm and Ranch Challenge of Champions Tour earlier this summer.
Anca is an eight-year-old third grader at Mulino Elementary School who began riding roughstock when she was six years old after watching her father, Jonathan Anca, who is also a professional bullrider. She has competed in multiple events the past two years and even had the opportunity to ride during the 2017 Molalla Buckeroo Association kickoff party.
The IMBA World Finals will be held at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma from Oct. 12-14, and Anca will compete in the six- to eight-year-old division.
Anca also qualified for the Challenge of Champions Tour Finale in Central Point, Oregon coming up in January, and she is the only girl to ride in both the IMBA and Challenge of Champions tour finales. Anca was also invited to ride in the juniors division at the St. Paul Rodeo in July.
