Indians give up highest amount of points in more than a decade in season opener against 2A Columbia Christian

The Molalla boys' basketball team's season didn't quite get off to the start they would've liked on Wednesday evening.

Molalla looked solid from the start, as an entirely new starting rotation learned how they fit in with one another. Senior Chase Jazdinski, who did not play his junior season, and returning senior Marcus Simpson, definitely made their presences known under the basket as they showed strong defensive rebounding and drove the ball through the key with authority.

Molalla held a seven-point lead early on in the game, but a more than ten-point swing in 2A Columbia Christian's favor in the second quarter was the tipping point in the game that saw the Indians give up the most amount of points in more than a decade.

Molalla will head to Banks tonight to try and regroup at 7 p.m., and will then have some time off before they return home to take on Australia's Saint Francis de Sales on Dec. 6.
