Doors open at 4 p.m.

GILL - An Airacobra fighter plane that dates back to World War II is one of many aircraft that will be on display at the Madras Municipal Airport during the Airshow of the Cascades Aug. 23-24.The two-day spectacular Airshow of the Cascades will have entertainment for the whole family beginning Friday, Aug. 23, and running through Aug. 24.

Sponsored by Morgan Distributing and Budweiser, the air show opens its doors at 4 p.m., with a fish and chip dinner at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the show is $10 general, or $15 for a two-day pass. Veterans and kids 12 and under get in free.

Friday night's twilight show starts at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks and live music.

Saturday, gates open at 8 a.m. for the Elks Aviator Breakfast. Helicopter, glider, and warbird rides will be available. The show starts at 1:30 p.m.

There will be over 100 planes on display, including several World War II aircraft, owned by Jack Erickson, from the Tillamook Naval Air Station Museum.
