Jefferson County will kick off its centennial celebration this weekend in Ashwood.

On Saturday, May 10, Mother’s Day weekend, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Madras Kiwanis Club will be serving a hot dog lunch on the Ashwood Grange property. Everyone is invited to attend.

The centennial history traveling exhibit, with audio-visual displays, historic photos, skits and activities will be available for viewing.

This will be the first stop of the “One Hundred Years of Jefferson County” history tour. The next appearance will be at Camp Sherman, May 24, from 5-9 p.m., on Memorial Day weekend, at the Camp Sherman Store.
