Rock, mineral show

This year, the All Rockhounds Pow Wow Club of America marks its 65th year of bringing its rock, gem and mineral show to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

More than 80 dealers are expected to be at the fairgrounds from June 25-29, with their booths open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free to visitors, but membership is required to participate in the group's daily field trips: $7.50 per person or $15 per family.

Booths will feature rough and polished rock, minerals, rock equipment, gemstones, finished jewelry and jewelry findings, carvings, clocks and motors, among other things.

The "Summer Extravaganza" includes daily events, such as a rock toss/scramble for kids, rock swapping, nightly entertainment beginning at 7:45 p.m., bingo and door prizes.
