Lea and Edsel Colvin Edsel and Lea Colvin, Gold Beach natives currently living in Madras, will soon celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married on Dec. 23, 1948, in North Bend, Ore.

Mr. Colvin served in the U.S. Army during World War II, graduated from the University of Oregon, and was a teacher, principal, and superintendent of Gold Beach Union High School from 1948 until his retirement in 1985. Mrs. Colvin worked as a homemaker, at the Gold Beach Pharmacy, and volunteered as a 4-H leader for many years.

They have three children, Penny Colvin of Ashland, Catherine Colvin Luther of Madras, and Paul Colvin of Happy Valley, and seven grandchildren, Brook Luther Gore, BriAnne Luther Swift, Alexander Therien, Catherine Therien Marks, Juliet Hayden, Stephen Colvin, and Caroline Colvin.

They are the great-grandparents of Katherine and Cameryn Gore, Benjamin and Samuel Swift, and Sawyer and Hunter Marks.

The family will celebrate their anniversary at the annual reunion in Madras over Memorial Day weekend.
