by: BILL VOLLMER/MADRAS PIONEER - Tots gather eggs at the Metolius Easter Egg hunt on Saturday.Saturday greeted many kids with a blast of wind as they scrambled for eggs, while the Easter Sunday hunt in Sahalee Park enjoyed good weather.

Saturday, in Metolius, 1,800 eggs were hidden in the city park, and a separate hunt at the train depot offered a quieter spot for special needs kids to find eggs.

The Madras United Methodist Church had over 100 children turn out to find 1,000 eggs, and residents enjoyed watching a drove of youngsters gather eggs at the East Cascade Retirement Community.

On Sunday, the Elks’ sponsored hunt in Sahalee Park featured 1,000 chicken eggs, 2,000 plastic eggs, plus toy prizes.
