Jennifer DuPont shows some of the produce at Wild Winds Station.Jennifer and Jeff DuPont, owners of Wild Winds Ranch meat cutting and smoking business in the Madras Industrial Park, are in the process of opening a new storefront, Wild Winds Station, south of town next to Abby’s Pizza, at 1225 S.W. Highway 97.

You may have to do some creative driving to get to it, with all the construction going on in the area, but Jennifer DuPont said the sidewalking and curbing is projected to be done by the end of July and will look really nice.

Wild Winds Station is open now offering fresh produce and products from their meat-cutting business. Produce changes weekly, depending on what is available.

DuPont said they purchase Oregon berries and vegetables as they come on, along with stone fruits and watermelon from California. Last week, the station had boxes of cherries, apples, berries, melons, avocados, peppers, zucchini, green beans, apricots, nectarines, plums and more.

A cooler at the back of the store features locally grown, grass-fed steaks, USDA choice steaks, boxed cuts of beef, and their own pepperoni, sausages, and jerky.

The DuPonts are still working on licensing to install a growler filling station, hopefully by August. “We will also be able to serve pints to drink on site,” Jennifer DuPont said.
