Race concludes MAC 10K Series

After gorging on delicious Thanksgiving food, why not schedule a run to help burn off all those calories?

The Madras Sanitary Service Turkey Trot, hosted by the Madras Aquatic Center, will hit the pavement Nov. 30, the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the MAC, with the races starting at 9 a.m.

There will be a 10K race, which is the last in the MAC 10K Series, plus a 5K run/walk. The race will start and finish at the MAC.

New to the race is a contest that involves a little fortune telling.

On their entry forms, racers have the option of guessing what time they think they'll finish their chosen race. Whoever finishes the closest to their estimated time will win a turkey.

The winners of the MAC 10K Series will be announced after the race as well.

That will be for the best combined time in four of the five sanctioned series events for both male and female.

The race series is in its second year of competition.

For more information, call Tyler Larrea at the MAC at 541-475-4253.
