The Madras White Buffalos dropped their Tri-Valley Conference opener to the Molalla Indians at home Tuesday.

Molalla took the first set by a convincing 25-12 margin, but Madras made the next two more interesting.

After several lead changes, the second set was tied up at 17 all, before Molalla took the lead for good. Molalla's Jaden Beyer served an ace to put Molalla ahead, before a Madras hit into the net gave Molalla the match point.

In the third set, Madras led by as much as 12-8, thanks to three blocks from Ally Dominiak.

Once again, however, Molalla came from behind and took control of the set. Molalla took the lead, 18-17, when Madras was called for a net violation. Jessica Olivera hit a pair of kills to keep the Buffs within two points, but Molalla scored the final two points on kills from Marina Daniels and Beyer for a 25-21 match point.
