It's Sunday, Feb. 17, National PTA Founders Day. Happy birthday to Chicago Bulls' great Michael Jordan (1963), who was wearing Converse shoes when the original jumpman photo was taken in 1984 in North Carolina by Dutch photographer Jacobus Rentmeester (who sued Nike in 2015 for copyright violations). Today in 1913, Oregon became the first state to enact a minimum wage law. Lawmakers determined that men working 50 hours a week should be paid at least $8.64 each week. Women should earn $8.25 a week. There could be rain showers and then partly sunny skies, with a high in the mid 40s. Here are a few things to do after you've volunteered for your local PTA today:

• Run through the muck at the Hagg Lake Mud Runs, beginning at 9 a.m., Hagg Lake, 50250 S.W. Scoggins Valley Road, Gaston. orrc.net/events/event-list/hagg-lake-mud-runs-ultra-50k-and-25k/

• Grab your parents and have fun KidFest!-SportFest!, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Portland Expo Center, 2060 N. Marine Drive. Cost: $6 to $25. www.kidfestnw.com/

• Hear a cool podcast at Listen Up Portland, a podcast festival, 11 to 7 p.m., several venues. Check website for locations. www.listenupportland.com/
