Jeffrey Jacob Schoessler passed away on January 4, 2018 after a short illness at Providence St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland. His passing has left many broken hearts.
Jeff was born on July 20, 1954 in Walla Walla, Washington where he attended public schools. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1972, then attended Walla Walla Community College where he attained his AA degree. Jeff moved to the greater Portland area in the early '80s where he enjoyed his job as a baker at several different bakeries in the area. Later, Jeff attended Clackamas Community College where he earned an Assoc. Degree in Graphic Arts. He soon went to work as a photographer for the local newspaper in Oregon City. Further proving his talent, he entered a nationwide photography competition and placed 2nd among hundreds of entries. Having creative interests, Jeff took up painting. He proved quite adept at water colors and soon displayed and sold several of his works through local merchants when he resided in West Linn.
Jeff was a kind hearted soul with friends from many walks of life. He played the guitar and was an avid music fan of everything from rock to classical harp. Many a night was spent gathered with friends, singing and reminiscing about good times.
He loved the outdoors and being around people. He was especially passionate about fishing and camping. Jeff also liked to be at the beach with friends and family. When his dad Arthur was alive, Jeff was a constant companion on his father's cabin cruiser where they enjoyed each other's company and of course, catching fish. Later, Jeff had many fun days fly fishing on the Salmon River with his brother Van. Jeff was an accomplished photographer and enjoyed taking photos during his outdoor adventures.
Jeff was especially close with his sister Sue. When he moved to Newberg, they enjoyed many new adventures with Sue and his nephews of whom he was especially fond. As siblings they were there for each other always.
Jeff is survived by his sister Sue Schoessler of Newberg; nephews Kurt Jorgensen, Kipp Jorgensen, and Kayden Jorgensen also of Newberg; his brother Van Schoessler of Bend; and numerous cousins in the Northwest. He was preceded in death by his mother Marida Schoessler and father Arthur Schoessler.
