Charles (Chuck) A. Hilliker
Mr. Charles (Chuck) Adelbert Hilliker, born on July 15, 1923 in Pulaski, New York, to the late Florence Grant Hilliker and the late Frank Hilliker, passed away at age 94 on April 10, 2018 in Milwaukie, Oregon. Charles was a long-time resident of Lake Oswego.
Charles proudly served in the United States Navy, serving most of his time in naval aviation, and retiring as chief petty officer. He worked for Boeing in Seattle and attended Eastman-Kodak photography school in Rochester, N.Y., returning to Oregon to run a service station owned by his ailing father-in-law in Salem. He worked as a scales technician for Toledo Scale Company, and as a weights and measures inspector for the State of Oregon, Dept. of Agriculture, from which he retired.
Chuck enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making, which he pursued vigorously in his retirement, with his "shop cat" always nearby.
Charles was married to the late Esther Riedesel Hilliker. He was preceded in death by his brothers Carl, Stanley, Art, and Kenneth; and sisters Elizabeth Scharoun and Lilian Wheeler.
Charles is survived by his son, Tim (Cheryl) Hilliker; daughter, Janis (Jim) Woolbright; brother, Monty Hilliker; grandchildren, Kerinne, Krystal, Betsy, and James, and great-granddaughter, Andrea.
Chuck loved serving others, and used his skills to make many pieces of furniture for churches, libraries, friends and family. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a long-time member of Beaverton Nazarene Church.
Friends and family members are invited to attend the memorial service on Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at Beaverton Nazarene Church, 12555 SW 22nd St., Beaverton, Oregon 97008.
