Cleo M. (Mitchell) Green
The daughter of Michael Mitchell and Lucena Bendt, Cleo was a childhood transplant from Clear Lake, South Dakota to Portland, OR where she attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Immaculata High School in 1956. She adored her kids, grandkids, family, friends, and her Yorkie Theo.
A renowned Portland socialite, Cleo never met a stranger. She made friends at all of her favorite hangouts, including Papa Joe's, Phyllis's, Clyde's, Jasmine Tree, Starky's, Crush, and many, many others.
She was also an accomplished executive assistant who typed 120 wpm, a bowler, a coach, a rabid Blazers and SF Giants fan, a PTA leader, a den mother, and a proud Irish Catholic. Some of her favorite things included the beach, roses, the Glenn Miller Band, hummingbirds, JFK, dancing, fashionable shoes, reminiscing, Telly Savalas, and the color blue. Cleo coined the term "Scuse?!" which will adorn her headstone in perpetuity.
She is survived by her children, RB, Mike (Jessa), and Michelle; sister, Marnie Gaffey; four grandkids; and two great-grandkids. Her grandson, Micah Green, preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to the burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Noon. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations on Cleo's behalf to Care Partners Hospice at www.carepartnersor.org
