'Mormon' tickets

The always hot Broadway show "The Book of Mormon" returns to Portland, Jan. 23-28, to the Keller Auditorium. Tickets go on sale at 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at, by phone at 1-800-273-1530, or at TicketsWest locations.'

By the way, it's part of the Broadway In Portland season that includes "Hamilton," March 20-April 8. No word on individual tickets being sold, yet. Check for information.

Miss Oregon Teen USA

COURTESY: JERRY AND LOIS PHOTOGRAPHY - Jaycie Forrester, 16, was crowned Miss Oregon Teen USA 2018.Jaycie Forrester, 16, was crowned Miss Oregon Teen USA 2018 on Oct. 8 during the pageant at Mt. Hood Community College. She was crowned by last year's winner, Vanessa Matheson. Forrester, who competed as Miss Portland Teen USA, is a straight-A student at Horizon Christian High School in Tualatin. She'll move on to the national pageant held next spring.

Pet project

Charles Waugh of Charles Fine Art Portraits is launching a coffee-table book project, "We Love Our Pets," that will feature 200 pets and their families who take care of them.

All proifts will go to the Oregon Humane Society.

Goodbye, Thelma

Thelma, the former rescued sea otter pup that survived into old age with one lung, has been euthanized at the Oregon Zoo, following a decline due to advanced age.

She was rescued in 1998, moved to the Oregon Zoo in 2000 with companion Eddie and lived to an approximate age of 19. She gave birth to pups in 2001, and then survived lung removal in 2006.


Were you looking forward to seeing RuPaul's "Werq the World" drag tour in Portland? Well, it's sold out, Oct. 15, at Revolution Hall. It'll be hosted by RuPaul Drag Race's Michelle Visage and stars drag queens Shangela, Detox, Valentina, Peppermint, Alyssa, Latrice Royale and Violet Chachki, with music by DJ Lady Bunny.
