At Honolulu, Oregon State lost to host Hawaii 79-73 Wednesday in the Diamond Head Classic.

The Beavers trailed by 19 points midway through the second half. They cut the margin to six down the stretch, but fell to 7-4.

Hawaii improved to 9-3.

Roberto Nelson scored 24 points for the Beavers, putting him 10th on the school's career scoring list with 1,320 points, as he moved past Brent Barry (1,304) and Scott Haskin (1,319).

Devon Collier added 13 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.

Challe Barton had a season-high 13 points for OSU.

The Beavers' next game, and final non-conference action, will come at 8 p.m. Sunday at Gill Coliseum against Quinnipiac.
