The University of Oregon's new defensive coordinator was born on this day in Banning, Calif.

Pellum has been on the Oregon football coaching staff for 23 years, most recently in charge of the middle and weak-side linebackers.

He also played linebacker for the Ducks, graduating in 1985 and serving as a graduate assistant coach with the Ducks.
