The Portland Pilots cruised past visiting Loyola Marymount and got back to .500 in the West Coast Conference, but Portland State lost by 10 at home to Montana.

  • Wooton's 21 pace hot-shooting Pilots

    Jasmine Wooton scored 21 points, and Portland shot 58.1 percent from the field, as UP beat Loyola Marymount 84-66 at Chiles Center.

    Portland climbed to 4-7 in the WCC and 13-10 overall. LMU dropped to 4-7, 7-15.

    Kari Luttinen added 16 points for the Pilots, Cassandra Thompson had 14 points and eight rebounds and Cassandra Brown had 13 points.

    The Lions' Mackenzie Kerins set a Chiles Center record with 25 rebounds, four more than the mark set by UP's Lorena Legarde in 1985.

    Portland plays host to Pepperdine at 2 p.m. Saturday.

  • Grizzlies recover, win at Stott Center

    Montana, trailing 33-25 at the half, made a 12-0 run and then distanced itself from Portland State i the closing minutes for a 65-55 victory at Stott Center.

    Montana raised its record to 14-6 overall and 8-3 in the Big Sky. PSU is 5-15, 3-8.

    PSU shot 50.0 percent in the first half, with 11 assists on 13 baskets.

    Mikaela Rivard and Allie Brock each had 11 points for the game for the Vikings.

    The Viks will be back at Stott at 2 p.m. Saturday against Montana State.
