A Trail Blazers legend, a former Oregon State star and a Portland Timbers executive all have reason to celebrate this week

Nov. 5, 1952

Bill Walton (age 65)

The starting center on the Trail Blazers' 1976-77 NBA championship team was born in La Mesa, Calif. His playing career was limited and cut short by injuries, ending in 1987. But he also won a title in 1986 with the Boston Celtics and was named one of the NBA's all-time top 50 players.

JOHNSONNov. 3, 1957

Steve Johnson (age 60)

From San Bernardino, Calif., the 6-10, 235-pounder starred in the post for Oregon State from 1976-81, then played in the NBA through 1991, including for the Blazers from 1986-89.

Nov. 5, 1973

Gavin Wilkinson (age 44)

The former Portland Timbers defender from Auckland, New Zealand, is the MLS club's general manager/president of soccer.
