Portland has signed Australian defender Ellie Carpenter, 17. She played last season for Canberra and was named Player of the Year. Her contract starts on April 28, and she is due to arrive in Portland after the April 7-22 AFC Women's Asian Cup.

COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Western Oregon 65, CONCORDIA 62

Visiting WOU overcame Bailey Cartwright's 16th double-double (15 points, 16 rebounds). Danielle Hartzog had 18 points for the Cavaliers, who fell to 13-12 overall and 7-10 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, a half-game out of the sixth and final league playoff spot with three games to go.

The Wolves are 10-13, 6-10 GNAC.

COLLGE MEN'S BASKETBALL

MULTNOMAH 75, Portland Bible 71

On Senior Night at Multnomah, the host Lions grabbed a 25-7 lead midway through the first half, then hung on.

Ben Grande of MU led all scorers with 19 points.

COLLEGE WOMEN'S SOCCER

Portland State has signed four high school players for the 2018-19 season: forward Amanda Dahl from Chandler, Arizona; goalkeeper Addie Furrer from Santa Barbara, California; Sofi Papastamos, a defender from Salt Lake City; and Alyssa Ulugalu, a defender from Ogden, Utah.

COLLEGE TRACK AND FIELD

Concordia is ranked first for men and seventh for women indoors in the NCAA Division II West region.
