SATURDAY LOCAL SPORTS NEWS/Ducks offensive lineman Crosby goes to Lions in fifth round; Nall signs with Bears



SEAHAWKS

• Seattle picked tight end Will Dissly (6-4, 265 pounds) of Washington in the fourth round (120th overall) and one-handed linebacker Shaquem Griffin of Central Florida in the fifth round (No. 141, 6-0, 225). He's the twin of Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin, who was a third-round choice a year ago.

Also, the Seahawks drafted Oklahoma State cornerback Tre Flowers, Texas punter Michael Dickson and Ohio State offensive tackle Jamarco Jones in the fifth round.

Temple defensive end Jacob Martin went to Seattle in the sixth round, and the Hawks tabbed Florida International quarterback Alex McCough in the seventh round.

NFL

• Former University of Oregon offensive lineman Tyrell Crosby went to the Detroit Lions with the 16th pick in the fifth round.

• Some undrafted Ducks will get a shot with NFL clubs as free agents, including defensive end Henry Mondeaux out of Jesuit High (New Orleans) and long snapper Tanner Carew (Seattle).

From Oregon State, running back Ryan Nall out of Central Catholic High has signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent.

LPGA TOUR

• Caroline Inglis, a former Pac-12 champion for the Oregon Ducks, was tied for 52nd with one round to go in the Mediheal Championship at Daly City, California.

Inglis shot a 4-over-par 76 on Saturday for a 3-over 219 total.

The leader, Lydia Ko, shot 67 and was at 11-under 205, one ahead of Jessica Korda.

PGA TOUR

•  Former UO golfer Ben Crane, from Beaverton, and Alex Cejka had a third-round, 6-under 66 and were tied for 29th in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. At 12-under 204, they trailed leaders Kevin Kisner and SCott Brown by eight strokes.

WEB.COM TOUR

• In the United Leasing & Finance Championship at Newburgh, Indiana, rookie Wyndham Clark from the University of Oregon and veteran Scott Harrington were five shots out of the lead and tied for 12th through 54 holes.

Clark had a 5-over 77 in the third round for a par-216 total

Harrington, from Jesuit High, caught him with a 71.

The leader, Maverick McNealy, shot 74 and was at 211, one ahead of Jose de J Rodriguez and Ethan Tracy.

THORNS

Portland 1, UTAH 1

• Tobin Heath gave the visiting Thorns a draw with her first goal of the season, a chip shot in the 67th minute at Sandy, Utah.

The Thorns are 2-1-2. The first-year Royals are 0-1-4.

MARINERS

Seattle 12, CLEVELAND 4

• The Mariners put it all together to take a 2-1 lead in the four-game series.

Former Oregon Duck Ryon Healy homered for Seattle, as did Jean Segura, Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager. Mike Leake got the win after allowing six hits and four runs in six innings. Relievers James Pazos, Nick Vincent and Chasen Bradford each held the Indians without a hit in one inning.

Seattle is 15-11, Cleveland 14-11 going into their 10 a.m. PT Sunday finale.
