WEDNESDAY COLLEGE SPORTS ROUNDUP/Beavers' Schroeder first at women's golf regional, but Oregon State and Oregon fail to advance

COLLEGE TRACK AND FIELD

• Portland State's Donte Robinson won the Big Sky decathlon with 7,307 points, edging Montana Stae's Mason Storm (7.161) at Moscow, Idaho.

In the heptathlon, Kristen O'Handley of PSU placed sixth with 4,578 points, and teammate Katie Baxter was seventh with 4,565.

COLLEGE WOMEN'S GOLF

• Oregon State's Nicole Schroeder won the at NCAA regional at Madison, Wis., but the Beavers (and the Oregon Ducks in the Indianapolis

regional) both failed to advance as teams to the NCAA championships.

Schroeder earned an individual berth, posting a 10-under-par 206 after a closing, par 72 gave her a two-stroke edge on Ohio State's Jaclyn Lee and Duke's Leona Maguire at University Ridge Golf Course.

OSU fell from a tie for fourth to eighth on the final day.

Oregon, which also was tied for fourth going into the final round at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, slipped to 14th.

Kathleen Scavo led the Ducks with a tie for 22nd, shooting a 4-over 76 on Wednesday for a 1-over 217 total.

COLLEGE MEN'S GOLF

• Nick Huff of Concordia tied for 90th in the NCAA D-II West/South Central regional at Amarillo, Texas.

Huff carded a final-round, 10-over 81 for a 20-over 233 total.
