Ducks rout Kentucky
OREGON 11, Kentucky 1 (5 innings)
• The Ducks' big bats and lockdown pitching of Miranda Elish sent Oregon back to the Women's College World Series for the sixth time and the fourth time in the last five years.
The No. 1-ranked Ducks spoiled Kentucky's upset hopes, beating the Wildcats for the second day in a row for a 2-1 super-regional series victory at Jane Sanders Stadium.
Shannon Rhodes' second-inning home run gave UO (52-8) a 1-0 lead.
The Ducks then exploded for six runs in the second, four of them on shortstop DJ Sanders' grand slam.
Oregon kept it going in the third, with Gwen Svekis making the score 9-0 on a two-out triple and Haley Cruse then knocking her in with a double.
Elish (24-1) went the distance, allowing four hits and one walk, with seven strikeouts over five innings.
No. 16 Kentucky, which finished its season at 35-21, got a solo home run to lead off the top of the fourth.
