A man and child were injured Thursday afternoon when a car struck the bicycle and bike trailer they were riding at Southeast 60th Avenue and Division Street, pinning the trailer between two vehicles.

Portland police have not released the names of the man and child. They were taken to a local hospital with what police said were non-traumatic injuries.

The driver of the car involved in the accident is cooperating with police in the investigation.

The accident happened at about 5:57 p.m. Police said two vehicles were stopped at a red light and a man on a bicycle pulling a trailer with a child inside were stopped behind the two vehicles. A third vehicle approached the stopped cars and ran into the back of the bicycle trailer and bicycle, trapping it between the front of the car and the rear of the next vehicle.

The crash is still under investigation. No citations have been issued.
