Victim critical but expected to survive

A 25-year-old man is hospitalized in critical condition after being stabbing in a fight that began in A Southeast Portland bar early Sunday.

The man's name was not immediately available but police say he is expected to survive.

According to police, at 1:51 a.m. on Dec. 9, East Precinct officers were flagged down at the Magic Inn, 619 S.E. 122nd Ave., on the report of a person being stabbed.

The officers located the and called for immediate medical response. He was transported to a Portland hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The officers closed down part of 122nd Avenue as they began to process the crime scene and interview witnesses at the bar. During the investigation, the officers learned that the victim was in an altercation inside the bar that spilled out to the parking lot, where he was stabbed in the face.

No suspect information was immediately available.
