Light snow forces schools to open late
Light snow falling across the Portland area is delaying some schools and forcing school buses onto snow routes.
No Portland-area school districts have closed because of the light snow.
Traffic was still moving through the Portland area on Interstate 5, I-205, the Sunset Highway and I-84 Tuesday morning, on what was mostly wet pavement.
The National Weather Service says a large storm blowing through the region Monday night and early Tuesday morning brought the cold air and the snowfall. Temperatures are expected to rise by about 11 a.m., giving way to rain the remainder of the day.
Heavy rain is expected again Tuesday night (with a little snow mixed in) and Wednesday.
