Education chief highlights Crystal Apple event
Rudy Crew, Oregons chief education officer, is making the rounds in Hillsboro this month.
Crew has been selected to give the keynote speech at Hillsboros Crystal Apple Awards, the Feb. 28 event that will honor Hillsboro School District employees in the categories of licensed staff, support staff and administration.
The deadline to nominate employees for the award is Jan. 18.
The Hillsboro Chamber sponsors the event, now in its eighth year. About 200 educators, family and friends typically gather to recognize the school leaders contributions to the community.
Winners will be announced at the Crystal Apple Banquet, open to the public. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.; tickets are $50 per person, with $15 from each ticket benefiting the Hillsboro Schools Foundation.
Table sponsorships are still available.
