A 4-month-old boy reported missing early Tuesday morning from his Hazelwood neighborhood home was found safe in the front yard of a home several blocks from his house.

Medical personnel have transported the baby to a Portland hospital for evaluation.

Portland police began searching for the toddler at about 2 a.m. March 5 when he was reported missing from his house in the 200 block of Southeast 148th Avenue. Officers searched the neighborhood and contacted relatives to find out if the toddler was taken to a different family residence.

The child was found in the 400 block of Southeast 139th Avenue.

Detectives are investigating the incident.
