UPDATE: Andrew Joseph Pulver, 29, in custody in Multnomah County

by: OREGON STATE POLICE - This motorcycle was reportedly stolen before crashing into the back of an SUV near Interstate 205 and Johnson Creek Boulevard.Police arrested the suspect who they identified as the man injured Wednesday afternoon when he crashed a stolen motorcycle into the back of an SUV stopped at the end of the Interstate 205 southbound off ramp at Johnson Creek Boulevard.

Portland Police arrested Andrew Joseph Pulver, 29, on Friday at approximately 12:15 a.m. and lodged him at the Multnomah County Justice Center.

After being ejected from the motorcycle into the vehicle's rear window, an injured suspect fled on foot from the scene toward Southest 82nd Avenue and was not found following a several-hour search by Oregon State Police and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Providing a photograph taken last month at the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility, OSP said Pulver has ties in Clackamas, Multnomah and Wasoc County areas. Witnesses said he was bleeding badly and in need of medical attention. His booking photo on March 29 showed fresh wounds on his face.

by: OREGON STATE POLICE - Pulverby: MULTNOMAH COUNTY - PulverOn March 27 at approximately 2:45 p.m., police say a stolen motorcycle operated by Pulver was traveling recklessly southbound on I-205 when it exited the freeway at Johnson Creek Boulevard and crashed into the back of a stopped 2007 Mercedes SUV. Upon impact, Pulver was apparently ejected over the front of the motorcycle into the rear window of the SUV before landing on the pavement.

The man identified as Pulver got off the ground and fled west on foot from the scene toward 82nd Avenue. He had obvious injuries and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray colored shirt or sweatshirt. The motorcycle was reported stolen out of The Dalles.

The Mercedes driver, Jolene Thompson, 48, of Clackamas, and her 22-year old female passenger were not injured.
