Lewis and Clark football player Jacob Valdviezo, who was visiting family during spring break, was shot and killed in San Francisco early Saturday morning, according to police.

The 19-year-old was gunned down right in front of his home shortly after 3 a.m.

He was a sophomore at Lewis and Clark University where he was studying economics.

When reached by phone, a spokesperson for Lewis and Clark said that the university was refraining from commenting at the request of the family.
