by: COURTESY OF CLACKAMAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Search and rescue teams were able to retrieve the body of a Salem dentist Sunday afternoon, nearly a week after he was reported missing on Mount Hood.The body of Salem dentist Dr. Kinley Adams was recovered from the Sandy Glacier Sunday afternoon.

Members of the search and rescue teams that had been looking for 59-year-old Kinley were able to retrieve his body at about 6 p.m. June 30.

On Saturday afternoon, searchers spotted Kinley's body. He had been reported missing there on June 23.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue teams working with Oregon Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopter crews found Kinley's body at about the 8,400-foot level on the Sandy Glacier.

The body was recovered by a highly technical rescue team and returned to base camp.

Sheriff Craig Roberts extends his thoughts and condolences to the family and friends who have been very supportive of the search efforts during this difficult time.

Search teams involved in the rescue/recovery effort included Oregon Army National Guard, Portland Mountain Rescue, Air Force 304th Rescue Squadron, Mountain Wave Communications , Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, American Medical Response Reach and Treat, Hood River Crag Rats, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/National Weather Service, Corvallis Mountain Rescue, Deschutes County, Eugene Mountain Rescue, American Red Cross, Estacada Fire Department, Clackamas County chaplain, Ski Patrol and Rescue Team from the Seattle area, Benton County Sheriff's Office, * Hood River County Sheriff's Office and family and friends of Dr. Adams .
