Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton filed to run for re-election next May for a second four-year term.

Staton was first sworn in as a Multnomah County deputy sheriff in 1989, and after 20 years with the department was appointed assistant sheriff in September 2009 and then sworn in as interim sheriff two months later to replace Bob Skipper. He won a full term in the office in May 2010.

Staton lives in Gresham.
