A Southeast Portland convenience store was robbed Sunday morning.

According to police, at 9:20 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, East Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Country Food Market, located at 5708 Southeast 136th Avenue.

Officers arrived and contacted the clerk, who told police that she was working in the store when the suspect entered, armed with a handgun, and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect walked out of the store and was last seen walking out of the area northbound on 136th Avenue.

Several officers, including a K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 5'4" tall, 150 pounds, black hair, blue eyes, wearing a dark-colored hoody, baseball cap and jeans.
