The driver of a vehicle that crashed early Friday morning on Southwest Barbur Boulevard killing its passenger, has been arrested.

Portland police took 29-year-old, Audy Molina-Colindres into custody Friday afternoon, Dec. 27. He has been charged with manslaughter, reckless driving and driving under the influence of intoxicants in connection with the single-vehicle crash.

The crash happened at bout 3:06 a.m. when the driver of a vehicle headed south on Barbur Boulevard, Molina-Colindres, lost control, crossed a median, and drove through the northbound lanes before colliding with a large tree. The accident trapped Molina-Colindres inside. Officers and medical personnel said the passenger, 28-year-old Dmitriy Maksimov, died at the scene. Portland Fire & Rescue crews cut the driver from the vehicle.
