Reports of gunshots heard in the area of Northeast Sixth Avenue and Simpson Street on Thursday evening, have Portland Police officers searching for both victims and suspects.

North Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team officers responded to the report of gunshots on Dec. 26, shortly after 5 p.m. Officers found evidence of gunfire in the intersection. Witnesses described hearing shots and seeing an unknown make or model vehicle leave the area eastbound on Simpson Street from Sixth Avenue. They also reported seeing a person running in the neighborhood after the shots.

There are no known victims or confirmed suspect information.

Gang Enforcement Team investigators and criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division are investigating the shooting.
