Icy roads were blamed for a three-vehicle accident on North Columbia Boulevard early Monday morning that injured three people.

Portland Fire and Rescue reported that the three people were taken to local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. Their names and medical conditions were not released.

Firefighters were called at about 6:16 a.m. Jan. 6 to Columbia Boulevard near North Burgard Street and Chimney Park, where they found three vehicles involved in a collision. One person had to be cut from the wreckage.

Portland police closed North Columbia Boulevard for more than two hours during the accident investigation.
