Police have released the names of the suspect and three victims injured after a gunman opened fire at a Southeast Portland strip club Saturday night.

The suspect is identified as Thomas Elliott Hjelmeland, 43. He remains in critical condition at a Portland hospital and has not yet been charged in this case.

Brian Thomas Rizzo, 26, a bouncer at the Mystic Gentleman’s Club, remains in critical condition at a local hospital. Gonzalo Zamora-Hernandez, 31, and Nichole Danielle Procter, 27, were treated and released.

The suspected gunman, whose name has not been released, is in critical but stable condition. Portland police are still trying to notify his family.

Ian Boynton, a Mystic employee, told KOIN News 6 Sunday that Rizzo had been placed in a medically-induced coma.

The shooting occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday at the club located at 9950 SE Stark St. According to Boynton, a club DJ, the suspect had been turned away earlier in the night before returning and opening fire. The gunman was reportedly shot by another bouncer who has concealed weapons permit.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Portland police detectives at 503-823-0395.
