Brian Wilson and Jules Bailey will face off in the May 20 election for Multnomah County commissioner, after being the lone candidates filing by Tuesday’s deadline.

They are vying for the District 1 seat once held by

Deborah Kafoury, who resigned to run for Multnomah County chair.

Bailey is an economic consultant and recently left the Oregon House of Representatives after serving nearly three terms. He previously worked as an economist for ECONorthwest. Bailey holds a master of public affairs and urban and regional planning from Princeton University.

Wilson is self-employed, and formerly worked for the Kalberer Co. He chaired the political committee to support Multnomah County library funding measures, and led the Multnomah County Charter Review panel. He also was on the Portland Housing Advisory Commission and the Citizen’s Campaign Commission.

Wilson holds a masters in business administration from Fordham University.
