Pioneer Square celebrates 30th birthday
Portlands Pioneer Square hit a major milestone on Sunday.
Pioneer Square, which is known as the citys living room, celebrated its 30th birthday. The gathering place was completed on April 6, 1984, and since then, it has evolved into a major meeting area with 300 event scheduled every year.
I always come here for the Christmas tree, said Paul Whery, a Portland resident.
The birthday party held on Sunday featured a number of free treats and event, including 1,984 cupcakes for Portlanders.
