An 18-year-old Portland man faces a murder charge after Tuesday night's stabbing that killed his 61-year-old father and wounded his 58-year-old mother.

Portland detectives said Jacob James Simon was arrested and charged with murder, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of third-degree assault. He will be arraigned Thursday in Multnomah County Circuit Court.

Police said Jacob Simon killed his father, Peter A. Simon, and injured his mother, Sheryl L. Simon, Tuesday night in the Fox Run Mobile Home Community in Northeast Portland.

Sheryl Simon was treated and released from an area hospital.

Officers were called at about 9:45 p.m. to the mobile home community in the 9000 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where they found the victims.
