The 2014 Portland Police Memorial Service will be held at noon on Tuesday. May 13. It will honor the 29 Portland Police officers who have died in the line of duty.

The service take place at the Police Memorial, located in Tom McCall Waterfront Park, just South of the Hawthorne Bridge. Afterwards, there will be a reception at the Portland Police Museum, located on the 1st floor of the Justice Center, 1111 Southwest 2nd Avenue.

The annual service is held in conjunction with the National Police Memorial Week, which occurs each year during the week in which May 15 falls. National Police Memorial Week recognizes the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement.

Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Memorial Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
