A 5-year-old boy is expected to recover from gunshot wounds to his leg after a Tuesday evening shooting at a Southeast Powell Boulevard apartment complex.

Portland’s Gang Enforcement Team is investigating the shooting. The boy’s name and medical condition have not been released.

Police said the shooting happened at about 8:21 p.m. July 8, at the Laurel Place Apartments in the 12500 block of Southeast Powell Boulevard. Police said the boy was struck by “multiple rounds” fired in the area. Several of the apartments were also hit by gun fire.
