Theater offers free screening of lead-poisoning documentary by Portland activist
The Clinton Street Theater is offering a free showing of Sellwood resident Tamara Rubin's documentary on the hazards of lead pollution in homes.
MisLEAD: America's Secret Epidemic, will be shown Monday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. at the theater on 2522 S.E. Clinton St.
Rubin, whose children were poisoned by an out-of-control home remodeling project, traveled the country to interview experts and others afflicted by lead poisoning. After the screening, the director and other local experts and mothers of lead-poisoned children will speak and answer questions.
The first 100 people to attend can get free lead-paint test kits for their homes.
