No suspect was found after the Special Emergency Reaction Team of the Portland Police Bureau responded to a Northeast Portland motel Sunday morning on the report that a woman had been held against her will overnight.

Police say the victim is uninjured and at this point there is no reason to believe the greater public is at risk.

North Precinct officers had been attempting to make contact with the known suspect in the room with no response, Concerned the suspect was uncooperative and armed, they decided to call in a limited SERT contingent.

The incident start at 9:18 a.m. on Aug. 31 when officers responded to a hotel in the 11300 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. They arrived and contacted a woman who provided some details about the circumstances leading to her being held in a room at the R & R Motel in the 11700 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

Detectives responded to assist officers with the investigation, which led to a specific room at the motel.

Traffic in the 11700 block of Sandy Boulevard is affected as this investigation continues.
