Light rail trains will return to normal schedules after three-week track repair prject.

Light rail trains in the region are scheduled to return to regular service Sunday following the TriMet's Morrison-Yamhill MAX Improvements project.

MAX service had been disrupted for three weeks while TrImet repaired tracks in downtown Portland at Southwest Morrison and Yamhill streets at 11th Avenue. Curved rails were also replaced at Southwest 1st Avenue.

The work will increase MAX reliability and create a smoother, quieter ride while also benefiting pedestrians, cyclists and auto drivers.

Test trains will be run through the area Saturday afternoon.

TriMet says it appreciates their riders' patience thanks them for adjusting their schedules and trips the past three weeks.
