Man struck by car while crossing Burnside Street
A man was seriously injured just after 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, when he was struck by a Mini Cooper at the intersection of Southwest Broadway and West Burnside Street, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Emergency responders took the injured man to a local hospital for treatment. Police have not released the man's name.
Witnesses told police that the man apparently walked into the crosswalk when the "do not walk" sign was lit. The driver had a green light in the intersection.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Southwest Broadway was closed during the investigation.
