East Precinct officers found a man "covered in blood" on the corner of Northeast 82nd Avenue and Glisan Street around 1:49 a.m. on Sunday, July 29, according to a news release.

Police say the 44-year-old victim explained that a "short, skinny, white male" had approached him to complain about his dog barking. The discussion must have become heated, as the suspect then allegedly stabbed the victim in the torso.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of "serious injuries." Medics say he is expected to survive.

While the man was located at the southwest corner of the park, police say they found additional evidence in the parking lot as well.

Police say the suspect was last seen walking northbound on 82nd Avenue.

Anyone with relevant information about this case should contact the Portland Police Bureau at 503-823-0400.

The Portland Tribune has asked police what breed of dog was barking, and we'll update this article if they respond.
