Driver ID'd in PSU hit-and-run
The man charged with striking pedestrians near Portland State University on Friday has been identified as Greg Porter, 61.
The Oregonian reports that, up until last year, Porter lived in King City. His current residence has not been released.
Late morning on Friday, May 25, witnesses said a blue Mazda Tribute SUV swerved up onto a curb near PSU and struck three women. All three were hospitalized. The driver of the SUV sped off.
Later that afternoon, police found the vehicle in North Portland. Porter was taken into custody on 12 charges, including three counts of attempted murder and three counts of first-degree assault.
Police have not said whether the hit-and-run was intentional, and whether there is a known motive.
