by: DAVID F. ASHTON - Witnesses wait at police request for officers to interview them about what they might have seen, just before this Jeep hopped the curb and ran into a tree on Powell Boulevard on the evening of December 2nd.It was dark and raining on the evening of Sunday, December 2nd, but neither the time of day nor the weather explained a single-vehicle accident that occurred a little after 10 pm on S.E. Powell Boulevard, a half-block west of 31st Avenue.

Witnesses had little to say about why the four-door Jeep might have swerved, popped up the curb, and smacked into a tree – nor did first-responders.

Paramedics were overheard saying the driver did have “nasty bump on the head” as a result of the accident. The female driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital; her condition is unknown.
