by: OREGON STATE POLICE - A head on two-vehicle crashed April 14 killed two people, including a young child who died of his injuries April 21, and closed Highway 30 for nearly three hours.A child injured in a head-on car crash that killed his father last week near Clatskanie died early in the afternoon April 21.

Noah A. Waite-Brown, 8, of Longview, Wash., was one of seven people transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle crash that closed Highway 30 for nearly three hours April 14. Waite-Brown's father, Lucas Brown, 36, died that day after arrival at the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

Oregon State Police troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Brown was driving eastbound on Highway 30 near milepost 75 and was negotiating a turn when the car traveled across the centerline and collided head-on with a Mini Cooper driven by Kimberly Anne Sultan, 42, of Astoria, who was traveling in the westbound lane.

Brown's Volkswagen Jetta came to rest on its top off the highway and the Mini Cooper came to rest along the right shoulder and fog line. Vehicle debris was scattered across the highway.

Brown was traveling with two children, Noah Waite-Brown and Kane G. Brown, 7. Lucas Brown and Waite-Brown were transported to the hospital by LifeFlight. Kane Brown was taken by ambulance to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria and later transferred to Oregon Health and Science University in Portland with non-life threatening injuries.

Firefighters extricated the occupants from the Mini Cooper. Sultan was transported by ambulance to St. John Medical Center in Longview. She was later transferred to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and, according to OSP, was in critical condition. The other passengers were transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The right front passenger was Ivan Sultan, 44. Two children, Keanu Sultan, 16, and Emily R. Lloyd, 22 months, were sitting in the rear seats.
